The scattered, eccentric, ridiculous thoughts of your everyday fashionista.

"Fashions fade, style is eternal."

“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.”

“Style is knowing who you are, what you want to say, and not giving a damn.”

The Jet Setter Look!! (With a Little Help From Rachel and Brad)

Lately I have been suffering from an extreme case of R.Z.W. .... or, unabbreviated, Rachel Zoe Withdrawal. The DVDs are just not cutting it anymore, and I have been forced to stalk the internet till I find any and all recent clips I haven't already watched a thousand times! It's sad.. I know, so now I've decided to turn my obsession into something productive. Below is a clip I found on Hulu of Brad and Zoe offering some tips on finding the perfect outfit for jet setting! While I love it (and have watched it many-a-times) it's a tad dated, and I wanted to show a spring 2011 updated version for the girl on the go!! So check out the original, then the revamped outfit (still following the dynamic duo's tips) by yours truly!!

My Spring 2011 Update!!

Still keeping it light and comfy with these Mixed Chino Pants. The cotton fabric would be perfect for long flights while the rolled leg and bright color keeps it chic and modern! (try a bold color! it's "this seasons" military!!) - Levi's - $79.50

I LOVE this blouse because it's simple and effortlessly sexy. It's cotton, the cap sleeves are definitely in style, and the little buttons and cinched waist give it a strong feminine feel! - Pins and Needles - Urban Outfitters - $54

This is the fun part for me.. a geometric, eye-catching sweater adds the fashion and risk taking to this otherwise simple outfit! It's smart and gorgeous and I kinda wished I owned it! - Gap - $69.50

Because of the bold choice in sweater, keep it simple with a neutral toned scarf. Don't worry though, it's still fashion now because of the "torn" look that is huge this season! - Staring at Stars - Urban Outfitters - $28.00

These have the attention of a high heel while still being a luxurious flat! Detailing on the side makes these shoes a killer choice! - Urban Outfitters - $38

Don't hate on the canvas bag! It's one of my favorites! Roomy and accessible this bag has got it all, and may just eliminate the need for a carry-on!! - BDG - Urban Outfitters - $68

Sunnies are always a must for one Mrs. Zoe, and these cuties add just the right amount of cheetah print pop, while shading you from those ridiculous paparazzi! - Forever 21- $5.80

And.. every good "Zoebot" knows that you can't wear white without a nice honkin' piece of turquoise on your body! Try this unique and fashion forward cuff! It's one great piece of jewelery that's versatile and hot!

I hope many more Zoe/Brad/Alex collaborations happen in the near future... we shall have to see... until then, I'll try to insert something clever...

Look of the Day!!

As someone that is not a huge fan of award shows (due to the fact that I find them rather lengthy and self-indulgent), I did not tune into the Golden Globes that took place last Sunday. However, I recently watched coverage of the show, and I have to say, many of the looks were INSANE! Sunning, stunning, stunning! From Angie and Anne's big ole' shoulders (love!) to the minimalistic and bold Calvins (seen twice on the red carpet by big names!) the dresses were definitely something to talk about! What was my absolute favorite you ask? Olivia Wilde's "princess/French chic" look stole the show for me!! She took my breathe away with this crystal-encrusted deep-brown Marchesa gown, sophisticated cat eyes and sleek bangs, and AMAZING studded Louboutins!! Everything about it screamed award show glam!

Spring Fever.

Does anyone else feel like spring has sprung?!?! The grass is getting greener (ok.. maybe not, but at least the snow has melted!), the birds are chirping (I swear I heard one!), and my wardrobe is IN DIRE NEED (not really) of some new spring clothing! I want to frolic in the forest wearing a fur vest and loose, colorful embroidered top! I want to sing in the rain with a clear-top umbrella and a crochet trench coat.
(see Burberry link: http://us.burberry.com/store/womenswear/prorsum/coats/long-crochet-overlay-trench-coat/sku-44149671002-long-crochet-overlay-trench-coat/

But most of all, I want to wear dresses and skirts WITHOUT tights.

Unfortunately, I can't do any of that now without freezing my bum off.. buttt, can I daydream about it? Yes. So, here are a few spring previews that are twirling through my mind! Things that will be able to keep you satisfied till the sun shines bright and the flowers are in bloom! Indulge in the season as I try to insert something clever.....

Desperately Seeking Susan's Wardrobe!!

80's rival may be old news to the high fashion community, however, it's exploding in my mindset and closet! Taffeta bows, lace gloves, cross chained jewelery.. I want it all! And where did this urban living, vintage store hunting, Aidan Quinn loving obsession begin? With one little movie my friends, staring one fabulous material girl! If you haven't seen Desperately Seeking Susan, smack your wrist for not indulging in the 80's brilliance! Trust me naysayers, you'll be seeing Madonna in a whole new light! None of that washed up comeback stuff that the current youth is subjected to, but classic Madonna. Plus, there is an ENDLESS supply of New York and cheesy romance to go along with the sex-kitten ensembles! My favorite wardrobe piece you ask? Duh, is that even a question? Those studded, zip up boots that Madonna eagerly trades her "Jimmy Hendrix" jacket for! They are the definition of street style, and I adore them. I've even made a life plan to find a duplicate pair and rock them with a cut-off mesh top, mismatching earrings, and red lipstick (it has to be done people!)! Now the boots aren't all!! There is the always-popping skeleton round duffel (with pink lining - that's my favorite part) which brought a whole new edge to luggage, the square sunnies, the garter belt and boxer combo (hehe), and leggings leggings leggings galore!! Bottom line.. it's fashion at it's most adventurous time (yes, you do see one Flock of Seagulls hairdo!), it's quintessential 80's movie fluff, and Aidan Quinn in his prime (need I say more?)! Now go rent it for 99 cents while I try to insert something clever......
