"Fashions fade, style is eternal."

“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.”

“Style is knowing who you are, what you want to say, and not giving a damn.”

Today's Best and Worst!

Oh Miley. We know you recently celebrated your 18th birthday.. and now you're considered an adult (scary) but really?? Does this outfit scream desperate for attention or what?

On the other end of the spectrum... Anne Hathaway looked absolutely stunning in this Valentino at the Love and Other Drugs screening. Classy, polished, and classic.. it's what Annie does best!

Look of the Day!

Mandy Moore looked like a fairy tale princess at the Tangled premiere last week! She rocked this vintage Carolyne Roehm one-shoulder fuchsia dress (which was perfectly cinched at the waist) and Jimmy Choo gold sparkly strappy heels (lovelovelovelove)! The earrings are simply perfect, makeup was minimally amazing, and she topped it all off with a messy high pony that is all the rave this season!! Basically.. she's Mandy Moore. She's fabulous. I love her. The end.

Sexy vs. Scandalous

Let's get right to the nitty-gritty ladies... the line between looking fashionably sexy and looking fashionably slutty may blur a little in your wardrobe... sometimes it's accidental, other times it's purposeful... but to me UNDER-DRESSING, in any case, is a fashion don't (ever!). If you are a victim of this fashion crime, don't fret. It happens to the best of us and it's an easy fix! A common misconception is that being sexy requires skin, skin, and more skin.. however, having mystique and exuding class with a trend can get a man's attention just the same! Sure, you love your legs, your arms, your chest.. but flaunt in moderation! You don't want to be "the club girl" you want to be "the ONLY girl"! So, below are some examples of the problems and solutions that will turn you into a sexy AND sophisticated woman!

The Sequined Dress:

The Problem

Ok.. well, first off, if you ordered this Express dress online, and you are over the height of 5'7, it would end up being a tank top! The length is SOO inappropriate, and so inaccessible!! Loving to show your legs is one thing, loving to show your lady parts is another! A sequin dress is always a statement.. but this one is NOT making the right one!

The Fix

I found two great fixes for this look! First, with this Maggie London dress, all the issues are corrected! First off, the navy blue color (die!) will stand out on its own! The length is mid-thigh and it's appropriate for any age! Secondly, we have this mature Aidan Mattox short-sleeved dress! It's holiday-with-the-family perfection and the bow is adorable! Match both with a black pump and you have a sexy look that isn't over-the-top!

Edgy Lace Blouse:

The Problem

This shirt by Literature plays peek-a-boo.. and ends up a little frightening. TOOO much skin.. can you imagine someone with a full bust in this? Esh... Being bold is one thing, being bandaged is another!

The Fix

Be couture and cunning in this Robert Rodriguez ruffled blouse! Here is an example of sheer lace that doesn't emphasis your chest (although I would suggest an under-layer!)! It's got just the right amount of edge to make it look charming not cheap.

Trendy LBD:

The Problem

The LBD is known to be sexy, and cutouts are popular in Hollywood right now.. but this dress is not ok. Cut-outs, to me, are tacky. Are women really that desperate to show something?? I think it brings down the taste level of the dress.. along with the fact that the twins are protruding and your butt will hardly be covered. This dress says one thing.. can you take a guess what it is?

The Fix

Dark floral is hot hot HOT in this chilly season and this ABS dress is a perfect execution of the trend! It's flirty, fun, and sweet! This dress says sophistication!!

Winter Bottoms:

The Problem

Alice + Olivia Ruffled Skort..... need I say more.

The Fix

NOW, this Alice + Olivia high waisted skirt is whimsical and PRACTICAL! It's perfect for holiday shows and office parties, and it's still sexy and slimming!

Mod Me Please?!?

I love 1960s fashion... bold colors, winged eyeliner, Go-Go boots, huge hair and short pixies, trench coats, capes, clean shapes, Jackie Kennedy?!? I mean.. come on people. I am also a huge supporter of the resurrection of said styles fully!! However, Mod is a difficult trend to pull off, because you can't go full retro without looking like a blast from the past! So, my suggestion is take peices from this one-of-a-kind style movement and make it your own! Here are a few 60s duds from modcloth.com, also some tips on how to keep them modern! Can you dig it? ... Get ready to look vintage as I try to insert something clever....

Undeniable Charisma Dress - $159 - Quintessential 1960s.. the buttons, the bow, the color.. I love. I would pair it with a chained shoulder purse and some simple flats, you definitely want this dress to be the star of your look!

Major and Minor Key Dress - $159 - Sexy and sleek.. opaque tights and short, black leather gloves should do the trick!

Pristine Premonition Dress - $77.99 - The collar, the ruffled sleeve, and the flow make this dress terribly 60s... try black ballet flats and simple bangles.

Can't Get Rid Of the Stripes Dress- $80.99 - The back really makes the dress, but simple stripes are totally Mod. Try it with big bug glasses, a light colorful airy scarf, and a pair of colorful platforms!

High Caliber Dress - $399 - This dress is so Bond girl, right? Pair it with huge black bangles and super high heels and you got yourself a look!

Emma Watson : My Favorite Fashionista this Week!!

So, last Friday Emma Watson made the ever-so-coveted "Look of the Day" post by wearing a Rafael Lopez dress she was killing at the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt. 1 premiere in London. I figured that was her "red carpet moment" (as Zoe would say) and she would play it down from there.. but oh, was I wrong! This week, during her New York City Press junket, she has been looking absolutely fabulous EVERYWHERE she goes! From her minimalistic Calvin Kline dress at the New York City premiere (which was made exclusively for her!) to her talk show stunners, she looked amazinggg and so grown up!! Look at some of her best as I try to insert something clever...

Arriving in New York, she wore THE FIRST EVER Burberry Bespoke trench coat! Designer Christopher Bailey made the leather-sleeved trench just for her! Jealoussss...

Here she is in a "Rorsache test" ink spot dress.. I love it, flatters her figure in all the right ways!

Here she is arriving at Regis and Kelly in a studded Burberry trench... I LOVE this trench.. like, I would steal it of her body if given the opportunity! Plus, the polka dot tights and studded bag are prefect accessories!

And finally... Emma looking chic in Klein.. I ADORE the open crossed back, the gold coiling bracelet, and the glamorous hair comb.. this ensemble in my book is an A+ slam dunk!!
